St. John's Newfoundland Boutique Hotel
Murray Premises Hotel
  HISTORY OF BUILDING

Originally, the Murray Premises was a group of connected warehouses constructed in 1846 from which salt cod was exported and provisions were imported. The historic Murray Premises is the oldest collection of mercantile buildings in the province related to the fishing industry. As you stroll through the Premises, you are carried away to that long-ago place where merchants and fishermen, aristocrats and adventurers built this City. The photographs and artifacts that can be found in the hallways and common areas of the Premises and the Hotel tell the tale of these historic structures and the role they played in the development of St. John’s.

Murray Premises Hotel opened a new chapter in the history of the Premises. The new boutique property began welcoming guests in May 2001. During 2005 and 2006, the Hotel underwent a major expansion and Executive Suites were developed on the second floor of the Premises. Murray Premises Hotel, occupying the top three floors of the Murray Premises, combines the tradition of a heritage property with ultimate luxury and comfort.
